The collection of three panels „ANNUNCIATION“ was born between years 2002 and 2008. The printed images are actually photos of the glass sculpture – kind of afterimage.
I have been contemplating the idea of afterimage for some time now – the transformation of something supposedly existant into a memory, archive of lost images.
Oftentimes they become different from the actual image – blurred, abstract. Occasionally, nevertheless, they can be even sharper than the original. In this work the image of an angel is the question mark – someone that possibly has never existed is documented with definite accuracy. What kind of afterimages do we get?
